SNAPSHOT - Vancouver westside - Feb 22nd, 2010

Based out of University Chapel, Christians from churches on the westside of Vancouver have engaged with More Than Gold and have been connecting with the many people coming and going from UBC's Thunderbird Stadium - an Olympic venue.

Today was a Women's Hockey semi final... More Than Gold volunteers gave hundreds of small red bags with goodies, literature, and helpful items. A huge hit with visitors! There was face painting, picture posing opportunities, live music from the Regent College plaza, internet cafe and lots of hot chocolate given away. It was a popular place!

More Than Gold volunteers have been busy at Skytrain stations. King Edward Station serves the crowds at the Curling.

With trains leaving every 3 minutes, and hundreds arriving at the same time, Translink officials at the station were initially concerned that MTG beverages would slow passage of people.

Seeing the response of crowds to the gift of a warm drink, and the friendliness of MTG volunteers they were won over! This video is a snapshot of one local volunteer...
