The Olympic Torch will be traveling from Victoria, British Columbia to St John’s, Newfoundland to Vancouver, British Columbia over a 106-day period starting on October 30th, 2009 and ending February 12th, 2010. What is to be our response? How can we find meaningful ways to initiate prayer for our country and to use this opportunity to engage with our local communities?
More Than Gold is an unprecedented Christian network formed in response to the upcoming Olympics. The Games will be an outdoor extravaganza. The Torch relay is a community celebration. Canada as a nation is the host for the Olympics. More Than Gold is calling people to action, to find meaningful ways to engage in the public space during this unique season. Canada Ablaze is an initiative of More Than Gold, which encourages intentional prayer for faith, hope and love during the Torch relay. A new downloadable packet is available for you or your church to help set CANADA ABLAZE!
