A Cup of Cold Water (or Hot Chocolate) Given in Jesus' Name

Mon. Feb 15, 2010 VANCOUVER, Canada

Volunteers from More Than God, a network of the Christian faith community, served over 200,000 cups of coffee and hot chocolate over the first weekend of the Olympics.

"We are thrilled to be able to show hospitality to guests from around the world," says More Than Gold executive director Karen Reed. "It is such a great opportunity to warm the hearts of athletes, officials, and spectators who are visiting our great country."

With such high demand for warm drinks, More Than Gold has already served up most of the supply that was donated. The Salvation Army has generously donated $10,000 to purchase more hot chocolate, but much more will still be needed from across the network of churches to meet the demand throughout the games.

Please contact Sharon Tidd, SA coordinator, at 604-299-3908 if you would like to help donate product or finances.
