More Than Gold Hospitality is offering hot and cold refreshment services to locals and tourists across the GVA during the Olympics. Several 1000 volunteers are being mobilized to make this happen. Some of these refreshments will be served out of Salvation Army mobile canteens. Most are served from refreshment backpacks carried by volunteers, with the hot coffee and cocoa being made in nearby church kitchens. It's a huge undertaking and an amazing opportunity to extend radical hospitality to thousands.
Here's a list of our service sites:
Service at the VANOC departure hubs will be offered from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Service at the TransLink locations will be offered from 12:00 noon to Midnight. Volunteer shifts will be 6-8 hours in length in most cases. Shorter shifts can be accommodated. If you like meeting and greeting people, extending joy and warmth through a simple cup of coffee/cocoa/water, and engaging in friendly conversation, this is an opportunity you can't pass up!
